PetroTechnik attended the Suntec exhibition in Singapore this month, November 19th and 20th 2009, exhibiting at stand 42 and presenting on the topic of alternative piping.

Using the proven UPP technology, the Rheomax brand of piping provides the perfect solution for more specialist piping applications for the conveyance of hydrocarbon based liquids or chemicals but without the disadvantages of conventional steel systems or unlined PE piping.

Available in coils up to 110mm (4″) diameter pipe and in straight lengths up to 400mm (16″) for maximum flow rates, Rheomax is extruded using PE 100 (4710) grade polyethylene.

PE 100 has a higher Minimum Required Strength which is calculated by extrapolation of pressure data over a 50 year time frame. It has a higher performance than PE 80 in terms of creep rupture strength, stress crack resistance and resistance to rapid crack propagation.

This increases the pressure rating of Rheomax pipe by 25% for the same wall thickness.

Rheomax uses the same barrier layer as UPP Extra and has the same hydrocarbon compatibility under UL971 and EN14125.

The Rheomax system is customised to the specific project operational pressure and flow requirements, by choosing the optimum combination of wall thickness and diameter (SDR) for the application.
